Mane Event and Taste of Arlington Heights-This Friday and Saturday
Mane Event will be held on Friday, August 9 and Taste of Arlington Heights is scheduled for Saturday, August 10.
Take it to the streets on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 for the Mane Event on Friday followed by the Taste of Arlington Heights on Saturday. The bookend events both occur on Vail and Campbell in Downtown, and they combine to make one of the biggest weekend celebrations of the summer.
This block-party styled weekend showcases live music from favorite local bands, food from local restaurants, kids’ entertainment, a Business Expo and performances by the Top 10 Finalists of Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent on Saturday afternoon.

Mane Event ( yes, it is spelled M-A-N-E in reference to a horse’s mane) and the Taste of Arlington Heights weekend kick’s off Million Week in celebration of the upcoming Arlington Million, the premier race event held at Arlington International Racecourse on Saturday, August 17. Activities will be held at the Racetrack during the week leading up to the Arlington Million.
Mane Event Line-up, Friday, August 9:
- 5 p.m. Business Expo: Local businesses showcase what they have to offer. Music from
- 6:30 p.m. A Thousand Julys, a Pop/R&B/Dance cover band
- 8:30 -10:30 p.m. Mike and Joe, a Chicagoland favorite, modern rock cover band
Taste of Arlington Heights, Saturday, August 10:
- 12:00 noon – Booths open
- 1 p.m. The Top 10 Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent finalists perform. Winner of Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent & People’s Choice Winner announced later in the afternoon!
- 6:30 p.m. – Friction, a rock and roll cover band
- 8:30 pm – 7th Heaven, a rock band cover band
Color Blast 5K, 10 a.m. Saturday, August 10.
New this year to the weekend of Mane and Taste is the Color Blast 5K, not your typical 5K!

Five kilometers of color and runners are the canvas. Clearbrook partners with Active Care Chiropractic and Rehabilitation to host the Color Blast 5K in downtown Arlington Heights. The first race of its kind in the northwest suburbs, this fun run promises exciting and brightly colored fun for the whole family.
The course includes four designated “Color Zones” where runners will be doused with brightly colored cornstarch. The end result being a tie-dyed finish line celebration. To register visit www.colorblast5k.net/
