Camelot Community Center Renovations Get Started This Week

In preparation for $5.83 million in renovations, Camelot Community Center will close this week. The outdoor park facilities will be open until next month, when they too will close. The center will reopen in the fall of 2014.

Plans to renovate the Camelot Park Community Center will get underway this week, the Daily Herald reports. As part of the $5.83 million in renovations the community center will be closed starting Wednesday. The renovation plans call for more than doubling the size of the community center, the publication reports. The additional space will include a new gymnasium with an elevated walking track, a new preschool room, and a new main entrance and lobby. There also will be more program space and more parking. The center, at 1005 E. Suffield Dr., will open again in the fall of 2014.
