Nine St. Peter Lutheran School Kids Win Highest Honors at IllinoisJunior Academy of Science State Science Fair

The college campus of the University of Illinois was teeming with tweens earlier this month, not for early college visits, but rather to compete in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Science Fair (IJAS) competition.

More than 1,000 science projects were judged from children coming from more than 200 schools in Illinois.  All were gathered at the University of Illinois Champaign’s in Assembly Hall to present their projects, share their hypotheses, research, results and, share their enthusiasm for and love of science.

All of the St. Peter Lutheran School 7th graders won highest honors (Gold) or second highest honors (Silver).

Student’s project categories included behavioral science, botany, consumer science and physics.
