Arlington Heights To Have Union Pacific 1995 on Site

The "Touch a Train" event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday.

To commemorate the village of Arlington Heights 125th anniversary - residents, familes and train enthusiast will have the opportunity to attend the "Touch a Train" event from noon to 6 p.m. held on Saturday and Sunday, July 7-8, at the northeast corner of Kensington and Douglas, adjacent to the in Recreation Park. 

The old locomotive is the perfect backdrop because the railroad corresponds with the growth of Arlington Heights.

The Union Pacific 1995 locomotive, that was unvieiled at private ceremony for UP's employees in 2006, will be on site for viewing this weekend in Arlington Heights. The locomotive is painted to honor the Chicago & North Western, which merged with Union Pacific in 1995. 

A special “Train Town” presentation will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 to commend the village of Arlington Heights.
