A number of area football teams played on despite the weather [and won], other games were postponed.
Despite the severe weather that rolled through the area Friday night, some football season opener games went on. Others were postponed or forfeited.

St. Viator High School beat Chicago (Foreman) at Hanson Stadium: 56-17

Hersey High School Huskies beat Glenbrook North at Glenbrook North: 47-7
Prospect High School against Glenbrook South – postponed

Buffalo Grove High School Bison beat East Leyden at Buffalo Grove: 28-14
Rolling Meadows High School vs. Chicago Lincoln Park at Rolling Meadows: Lightning caused delays past 9 p.m., and IHSA rules dictate no game can begin after 9 p.m. According to Rolling Meadows parent Tom Glasgow, Lincoln Park chose not to reschedule and forfeited the game.
