Maine West Parent ‘Sickened’ by Tolerance of Bullying

Four families have filed a lawsuit against D-207 administrators, faculty, coaches and staff over hazing, bullying, physical and sexual assault allegations. Three plaintiffs were added to the suit on Wednesday.

Shielded by a cap and sunglasses to conceal her identity, the mother of a former Maine West student spoke to reporters with her attorney, Antonio Romanucci, about why she joined the hazing and bullying lawsuit at the law firm’s Chicago office on Wednesday.

The woman said she was “sickened” when she heard about the report of a Maine West High School student being hazed and bullied recently. Some of the same coaches were employed at the Des Plaines high school, including varsity soccer coach Michael Divincenzo, she said, as were when her son was the target of similar assaults in 2008.

Her son was transferred to Maine East High School in Niles, and continued to suffer as a result of being repeatedly targeted by other student athletes, she said.

Have you ever heard of "fear of retaliation?" Some of the students, athletes and/or administration that she's involved in suing may retaliate. It happens

If you have ever gone up against the school district, you would know that they are quite intimidating and a formidable foe. I don't envy her position, not only in the attack on her child and long term ramifications, but having to deal with the assaults from the district and their plethora of lawyers. Not a comfortable place to be.

Wow, you guys are not that bright. You must have close ties to these child abusers. Lets attack those that were victims....CLASSIC BULLYING techniques. The question you should be asking is, why the superintended is not on the hot seat explaining when hazing first appeared nothing was done years ago? The second question should be, why are the students involved with jamming their fingers in the rectums of the chidren and molesting underage children not arrested and expelled? Why are the coaches involved not arrested? Those questions should be at least on top of your list....INSTEAD of "why is she shielding her identity". DID YOU EVER consider that there are people out there that care more about sports then what happened to this kid and they might throw bricks through this parents house because of them coming forward?...or crank calls or more insults?......Are you so ignorant to believe that by her identity being revealed she will not have parents attacking her and her family because of the charges she brought forward? Why don't you just do some research on girls that came out that got raped by the football players in a town and the town instead of going after the football team, went after the girls that got raped....LETS PROTECT OUR CHILDREN NOT ATTACK THEM. And lets give credit to the mother for having the courage to come forward knowing there will be people like you two attacking and questioning her. SHAME ON YOU!

I assume you comment is for B Garret & RJ Mayer, because the rest of these comments were against what they ( B Garret & RJ Mayer) said. I agree with most of what you said ( except your logic on people posting answers being close to the attackers and commentors not being bright unless you only meant B Garret & RJ Mayer)then I agree with all of what you said, but want to set the record straight.
