John Hersey's Annie Johnson to Compete in State Gymnastics Meet

The state meet will be held Feb. 15 and 16 at Palatine High School.

John Hersey High School junior Annie Johnson is headed to the state gymnastics meet this weekend. 

Johnson will compete in the uneven parallel bars after qualifying at the Fremd High School sectional on Feb. 4. She had a qualifying score of 9.250, according to the Illinois High School Association website.

The state meet will be held Feb. 15 and 16 at Palatine High School.

  • Kelly Johnston, a freshman from Rolling Meadows High School, qualified in the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.125. 
  • Maddie Larock, a Prospect High School sophomore, qualified in the all-around with a score of 36.125; the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.475; and the floor exercise with a score of 9.275
  • Gianna Scala, a Prospect High School junior, qualified in the all-around with a score of 36.4500; the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.100; and in the floor exercise with a score of 9.625.
