Bike Trail Now Connects Arlington Heights to Glencoe

Bikers can ride continuously now on the path from Arlington Heights almost to Lake Michigan.

Now that a new section of a bike path along Dundee Road is open, cyclists can ride all the way from Arlington Heights to Glencoe, the Chicago Tribune reports. The new three-quarter mile portion of the path is in Wheeling, and now that it's finished it has made the path that runs on the south side of Dundee Road from Route 53 in Arlington Heights to Green Bay Road in Glencoe complete.

The path stretches 12.5 miles. Previously bikers either had to take a six-inch-wide dirt path or ride along Dundee Road with vehicles driving at 50 miles per hour beside them, the publication reports.
