On Dec. 1 , " at 1280 Rudolph Dr.," according to a release from the Northbrook Fire Department.

Two Northbrook police officers had to assist the driver out of the car and cold water, but no injuries were reported by the fire department, who later helped remove the car from the pool, according to the release.

Does the 92 year old lady who drove over the curb, through the fence, and into the pool get to keep her drivers licence? Just asking.
Karen Stolzman December 8, 2012 at 06:55 pm
Moe,
How much would you like to make a bet - believe it or not, the way the legal system works - YES she does. Had a similar incident to our back yard and the senior - scott free of charges.
Lake Forest December 8, 2012 at 08:44 pm
Yes, and drivers tests are ridiculous! I was hoping one of my kids wouldn't pass, but all they did was have him drive around the block! This was at Deerfield.
Brian December 8, 2012 at 08:54 pm
I would assume your child is/was around the age of 16 at the time? If you were that worried for their or anyone else's safety, you should have taken it from him.
Stevie Janowski December 8, 2012 at 09:33 pm
Now your kids can be illegals and get licences!!! What has this world come to?
jeff December 8, 2012 at 11:40 pm
You can get whatever you want in this state if you want to pay the fee!
Brian December 9, 2012 at 12:46 am
Is this discussion really carrying over from the closed forum?
Stevie Janowski December 9, 2012 at 01:14 am
Yeah brian it is, you know why? Its real news, and a real problem
Brian December 9, 2012 at 01:53 am
I agree it is a big issue, but this message board (and I have to include myself as well...since I can't help arguing with good old jeff) drops important issues down to no more than lame insults about others opinions. If people disagree we take it as a personal shot and hijack an otherwise innocuous board. This board isn't about Illegals getting a license, so why hijack yet another?
Joe December 9, 2012 at 04:19 am
Yes Moe, she most certainly keeps it. One she is the backup driver next year on the road to Sturgis, P.S. for all you that don’t know that’s the gal in the back-up van hauling the food, beer and the bike parts. Now the little gal with the hammer, she is a no go, got enough crazy chicks you know!!

Amen! And to think The Orchard Evangelical Free Church wants to raze 8 neighborhood homes to buildRead More a parking lot? Another loss of revenue for the village if these 8 homes get demolished.
Cati Jones June 16, 2013 at 05:29 pm
yes, despite the fact that property values have taken a hit in this economy, there has been NORead More change in the AH property taxes> Question: what are our political representatives doing about this?
Burt June 11, 2013 at 10:45 pm
The residents of Arlington Heights are aging and have no money we cannot raise any more taxes. IfRead More anything cut the size of the force
Bob Ruffatto June 13, 2013 at 08:26 am
I think that the police department does need a building. New national standards require separateRead More ventilation systems for prisoners to reduce unhealthy exposure. Also, new standards require "hardened" facilities to assure uninterrupted protection during emergencies. In addition, there are many more issues that after review seem reasonable. However, we don't need a new 71,000 square foot building which would rival in size, our current village hall - a building many call a Taj Mahal. The current process started on the wrong foot and wasted money. Three qualified consultants submitted bids and yet the contract was awarded to high-bidder. This has already wasted thousands of taxpayer dollars. Hopefully the new Board and Mayor will rein in the excessive spending and design. We have reason for hope. There is now a qualified and fiscally conservative architect on the Board. At the same time, it would nice to see if the Police could share some of the largely unused village hall. Doing so, would be a win-win for taxpayers.

ask the Police who work there , what is more important their pensions being funded , or someRead More """ air quality bs "" I would give a shower with a garden hose to any law braker anytime , some deodorant , hell I would even wash their cloth , meanwhile giving them nice pink pants and t-shirt the current police station is sufficient , but there must be a interest in building one and it is not a residents interest I am talking about - figure it out ( $$$$$$$)
