National Fraternity Sued by Local Man's Family Makes Statement

Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity, Inc. has issued a statement after the family of David Bogenberger, 19, of Palatine decided to name them in a lawsuit, according to the Daily Herald.

The international fraternity named in the lawsuit brought by the family of Palatine native David Bogenberger, who died resulting from alcohol-related hazing, has issued a statement, according to the Daily Herald. 

Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity, Inc. expressed condolences to Bogenberger's family, according to the Daily Herald, and added that the local NIU fraternity has been suspended due to not meeting standards regarding alcohol and hazing

Bogenberger was just 19-years-old at the time of his death. He was a 2012 Palatine High School graduate.

During his initiation into the fraternity, Bogenberger had consumed more than five times the legal limit of alchol for driving. His death was ruled accidental.
