Female Jogger Attacked in Arlington Heights
This is the second jogger who has reported being attacked in Arlington Heights in the past two weeks.
As a woman jogged early Friday morning in Arlington Heights, a man grabbed her and forced her to the ground, Arlington Heights Police report. The victim struggled briefly, until a good samaritan helped her out.
The woman was jogging at about 5:30 a.m. near Hintz Road and Haddow Avenue. After someone came to help her, the suspect ran from the scene. The woman was not injured.
This is the second female jogger who has been attacked in the past two weeks in Arlington Heights as she ran, police said. The incidents occurred within a mile and a half of each other.

The previous incident occurred on September 26, 2013, at 6:00 a.m. In that incident the victim was battered in Lake Arlington Park, police said.
The police department is asking people to be aware of their surroundings while jogging, running or walking. Safety tips include: Run with someone else, do not run in a secluded area, do not run during hours of darkness and do not wear earphones.

The Arlington Heights Police Department is actively investigating both incidents and is seeking witnesses who can provide assistance in identifying the suspect.
Police say the suspect in this incident was approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build and was wearing dark clothing.
