Crime Alert: Two Residential, Six Vehicle Burglaries Reported in Arlington Heights

Two residential burglaries and six vehicle burglaries reported in Arlington Heights.

Two residential burglaries reported in just four days in Arlington Heights. 

Computer Stolen

An Apple desktop computer was stolen from an Arlington Heights home on the 400 block of S. Reuter Drive, sometime between 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 and 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. With no signs of forced entry, the unknown offender or offenders may have gotten inside the house through a side access door to the garage. The value of the computer is not known.

The resident’s Razor scooter was thrown through the back patio door to gain entry into the apartment on the 500 block of E. Seegers Road. Inside the apartment, the only area disturbed was the bedroom closet where the unknown offender or offenders removed a five-gallon water jug containing $200 in coins. The residential burglary occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and about 4:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22. 

Vehicle Burglaries: 

Six vehicles burglarized at three different Arlington Heights locations in the last four days.

Location 1. Parked in a driveway on the 700 block of E. Olive Street, three vehicles were burglarized sometime between 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 and 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22. The Dodge Caravan, Chevy Impala and Kia Sorento were all left unlocked. The following items were removed: Nikon digital camera, valued at $2,500, numerous tools, a toolbox and change.

Location 2. Two vehicles, parked in a driveway on the 0-100 block of S. Donald Avenue, were burglarized sometime between 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 and 5:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22. With no signs of force, the unknown offender or offenders entered a tan BMW and a green Honda Accord. The following items were removed: A Magellan GPS, valued at $150 and a black Sansa MP3 player, valued at $50, a silver iPod valued at $200, a Canon digital camera, valued at $100 and a black Maglite, valued at $100. 

Location 3. A bottle of “Usher” cologne, valued at $40, a set of keys and a small black purse containing credit and debit cards were taken from a Dodge Charger parked in the XSport Fitness lot at 320 E. Golf Road. The burglary occurred between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, and there were no signs of forced entry.

The offender of offenders attempted to use the credit cars at two gas stations in Chicago but the transactions were denied.
