Arlington Heights Police: Rash of Car Burglaries

The following information was provided by the Arlington Heights Police Department. When an arrest is referenced it should not be considered a conviction.

Window Smashed

Someone shattered the driver side window of a silver 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and reached inside, possibly attempting to take a purse. The person fled when the owner of the vehicle who was asleep on the back seat, woke up. The person fled in a white Ford SUV. The incident happened on Aug. 16 at 31 E. Golf Road in the IHOP parking lot.

Diaper Bag Stolen

Someone smashed the rear passenger side window on a 2009 Lexus ES350 and took a beige diaper bag valued at $125 which contained various items valued at $75. The incident happened on Aug. 17 at 955 W. Dundee Road in the Chuck E. Cheese parking lot.

Guess Wallet Taken

The passenger side window of a vehicle was smashed on Aug. 17 at 955 W. Dundee Road in the parking lot of Chuck E. Cheese. A black Guess wallet valued at $50 was taken.

iPod Nano Stolen

A gray 2000 Lexus ES300 was burglarized on Aug.15 in the driveway of a home in the 200 block of N. Patton Avenue. Taken was a purple iPod Nano.

Windows Shattered on Jeep

The front passenger side window on a black 2003 Jeep Liberty was smashed at 1933 N. Kennicott Drive in the Frontier Park Parking lot on Aug. 16. A large white purse valued at $30, a Cannon Digital camera valued at $200 and two diaper bags valued at $200 were taken. The diaper bags contained kids' floaties valued at $20 and action figures valued at $70.

Black Purse Taken

The front passenger side window of a silver 2003 Honda Odyssey was smashed on Aug. 16 at 1933 N. Kennicott Drive in the parking lot of Frontier Park. Taken was a black purse valued at $500 which contained credit cards, ID, a checkbook and about $200.

Window Smashed, Purse Snatched

The front driver side window of a beige 2010 Toyota Corolla was smashed in the 1200 block of S. Dunton on Aug. 18. Taken was a large purple purse valued at $150 which contained $100, credit cards and ID.

Man Flees Police

Officers on patrol in the 100 block of W. Central road on Aug. 19 saw a man kneeling in front of a gray 2010 Ford Escape. The man fled the area and could not be found. The owner of the Escape later said that $60 was removed from a wallet in the vehicle.

Powerball Ticket Stolen

Someone entered an unlocked 2001 Subaru Forester in the 100 block of S. Patton Drive on Aug. 15 and took $15 and a Powerball lottery ticket.
