Arlington Heights Crime Alert: 4 Residential Burglaries Over Weekend

The Arlington Heights Police Department releases crime alerts weekly, and asks for the public's help by reporting information you may have confidentially.

Three residential burglaries were reported in the same area on Saturday and one was reported on Sunday by the Arlington Heights Police Department in the latest crime alert.

Burglaries in the 1300 blocks of S. Walnut Avenue and S. Ridge Avenue on Saturday, February 16:

The first residential burglary occurred in the 1300 block of S. Walnut Avenue, between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The back door was forced open and all bedrooms appear to have been searched through. A locked dresser in one of the bedrooms was forced open, and a man's watch and gold jewelry were removed. A single pillow case was taken from the master bedroom. The backyard gates were found open and an unoccupied Gray Ford Taurus was observed parked on the street.

The second residential burglary also occurred in the 1300 block of S. Walnut Avenue, this time between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. The back door was again forced open, and all bedrooms, in addition to an office and the basement appear to have been searched through. A grey safe that was bolted to the concrete floor in the basement was removed. It contained jewelry, important documents and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The backyard gate to the home was found open and a rear motion sensor light was broken off. A late model Chrysler or Dodge minivan with a Wisconsin registration was seen unoccupied and running parked along the curb.  

The third residential burglary occurred in the 1300 block of S. Ridge Avenue, between 6:10 p.m. to 9:05 p.m. The back door was forced open, and all bedrooms, an office and the basement appeared to be searched through. Jewelry and watches were taken, along with two pillow cases from the master bedroom.

Burglary in the 2500 block of N. Hickory Lane on Sunday, February 17:

A residential burglary occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. in the 2500 block of N. Hickory Lane. The front door was forced open, and all bedrooms, the dining room and office appear to have been searched through. Jewelry was taken.
