Arlington Heights Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Patricide

Matthew Nellessen, along with three accomplices, robbed 55-year-old George Nellessen of checks, cash and bank cards before murdering him, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Arlington Heights resident Matthew Nellessen was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for the murder of his father, George Nellessen, in his home in the 1000 block of Wilshire Lane in April of 2011, according to the Chicago Tribune. The younger Nellessen was 19-years-old at the time of the murder.

Nellessen reportedly bludgeoned his father with a baseball hat and stabbed him, the paper reported, in what was determined to be a plot for money through a fake robbery.
