Arlington Heights Fire Safety Week

Fire department hosting open house to teach fire safety, offer fun for families

Head to the Arlington Heights Fire Department Saturday morning for fire safety and fun.

As part of National Fire Prevention Week, the fire department is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at station #2, 1150 N. Arlington Heights Road.

The community is welcome to stop by any time during the free open house to get a close-up view of firefighting equipment and apparatus at the Arlington Heights Fire Department’s Open House.

The theme for Fire Prevention Week this year is “Have 2 Ways Out.”

At the open house, you can hear about this topic, as well as learn about fire prevention tips.

You’ll also learn about firefighting equipment and how it’s used.

For those who like hands-on experiences, you’ll get a chance to get into a fire truck, and watch demonstrations on what firefighters are trained to do.

The fire Safety House also will be on display.

For the kiddos, there will be face painting, games and an appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog.
