Arlington Heights Crime: Thousands of Dollars in Jewelry Taken in Burglaries

The Arlington Heights Police Department releases crime alerts weekly, and asks for the public's help by reporting information you may have confidentially.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

An unknown offender or offenders forced open an exterior door and entered a residence in the 2500 block of N. Haddow Ave, some time between 4:50 p.m. and 9:21 p.m., Oct. 4. They removed approximately $700 in cash, and many jewelry items. Taken was a diamond tennis bracelet valued at $10,000, a diamond pendant valued at $12,000, gold earrings valued at $3,000, and diamond earrings with unknown valued.

An unknown offender or offenders entered a residence in the 500 block of Happfield Dr. some time between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 5. There were no signs of forced. Taken were two gold bracelets, two gold rings and a ruby ring all with unknown values.

An unknown offender or offenders entered an apartment in the 900 block of E. Shady Way some time between 8 a.m. Sept. 29, and 3 p.m., Oct. 6. Police say they may have entered the apartment through an unsecured patio door before removing various pieces of jewelry and a porcelain bowl valued at $40. The jewelry taken was a yellow gold ring valued at $750, a large gold ring valued at $500, small gold hoop earrings valued at $50 and other gold jewelry.
