Arlington Heights Crime: Arlington Park Trespasser, Pills Taken from Retirement Home Resident

Criminal Damage to Property

Arlington Heights Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1100 block of E. Algonquin Rd. at a condominium complex on Aug. 31 at 3:16 a.m. When officers arrived, they found two broken windows at one condo, but only the outside window pane was broken, and there were no signs of bullets.

The driver’s side door of a 2006 Nissan Xterra was kicked in by an unknown offender as it was parked in the 500 block of E. Haven St. sometime between Aug. 28 at noon and Aug. 29 at 7 a.m. Damage estimates were not immediately available.

Criminal Trespass

Francisco G. Giles, 23, of the 3600 block of S. Laramie, Cicero was arrested for trespassing at Arlington Park Racetrack, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., on Aug. 30 at 6:37 p.m. Giles was observed by racetrack security sitting in his white 2006 Lexus RX400 inside Gate 9. He had been told months ago not to return to the property. Giles’ court date is Oct. 11.

Theft

More than a dozen Interlock paver bricks were taken from the front yard of a home in the 2200 block of Michael Manor Ln. sometime between Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. The owner was having work done on the home’s patio and stoop. Twenty of the smaller paver bricks, and five of the larger ones were taken from a pallet in the front yard. Estimates on the value of the bricks were not immediately available.

Seventy Hydrocodone pills were taken from a resident’s room at the Church Creek retirement home, 1200 block W. Central, sometime between Aug. 19 and Aug. 26.  Multiple people had access to the unit.
