The latest Arlington Heights Police Crime Alert:
Residential Burglary Attempt
Unknown offender(s) cut a rear patio screen and opened a second but entry into the residence was not gained in the 2000 block of E. Rosehill Dr. on April 9 between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Damage estimates were not immediately available.

Arson
Unknown offender(s) entered three unlocked vehicles and set fires near three parked cars in Warren’s Car Doctor parking lot, 533 S. Arthur Ave. sometime between April 5 at 5 p.m. and April 9 at 9 a.m. The cars involved were a beige 1997 Ford Contour (damage to the driver side visor-$100 in damage), a beige 1987 Cadillac Fleetwood (damage to rear seat-$250) and a red 1999 Ford Ranger-burnt out passenger seat and smoke damage-$950 in damage). Police believe a lighter may have been used to set the fires, all three vehicles are owned by the business.

Vehicle Burglary
Unknown offender(s) entered a locked black 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and removed miscellaneous paperwork and a make-up bag as the car was parked in a residential driveway in the 1300 block of Best Dr. sometime between April 7 at 7 p.m. and April 8 at 4:30 a.m. The items were found on the victim’s front porch, and an iPod in plain view was not removed.
Unknown offender(s) burglarized two vehicles in the 3000 block of N. Wilshire Ln. between April 7 at 8 p.m. and April 8 at 6:45 a.m. The first affected vehicle was a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder with no signs of forced entry. An iPhone 4 ($300) was removed. The second vehicle was a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. The unknown offender(s) unsnapped the soft top and removed a TomTom GPS ($100), a black canvas backpack ($45) textbooks ($175) and a Texas Instruments calculator ($90). The locked center console was damaged as well.
