Arlington Heights Crime Alert: Gas Siphoned from Car, $3K in Tools Taken

The Arlington Heights Police Department releases crime alerts weekly, and asks for the public's help by reporting information you may have confidentially.

Theft from Motor Vehicle

Twenty gallons of gas was siphoned from a silver 2002 Ford F150, and five gallons out of the portable gas container in the truck bed as it was parked near Fox and Hound restaurant, 910 W. Dundee Rd. on Aug. 28 between 8 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. The value of the gas is estimated at $80.

Vehicle Burglary

Powers saws, nail guns, an air compressor and drills were taken from a white 2003 Chevy Express van parked at Lowe’s, 990 W. Algonquin Rd. The total value of the tools is estimated at $3,000.

A baseball-sized rock was thrown through the passenger side window of a gray 2012 Honda Accord on Aug. 27 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Arlington Heights Metra Station, 2121 W. Northwest Hwy. Property removed from the vehicle included a Vera Bradley coin purse ($20), a green iPod Touch ($200) and music CD’s ($20). The damage to the window is estimated at $200.

Theft

A lock was defeated on a locker at XSport Fitness, 960 W. Dundee Rd. on Aug. 25 between 9:30 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. A black leather bi-fold wallet containing debit and credit cards were removed, along with Pace/Metra passes, $50 in cash and a university ID card.
