Arlington Heights Crime Alert: Car Shot with BB Pellet, Residential and Car Burglaries

The Arlington Heights Police Department releases crime alerts weekly, and asks for the public's help by reporting information you may have confidentially.

Residential Burglary

Unknown offender(s) entered a residence in the 2600 block of N. Brighton Place on April 26 between 6 p.m. and 11:21 p.m. Items taken included an unknown amount of jewelry, and 37-inch and 42-inch televisions. There were no signs of forced entry, and the rear patio door was found unlocked and the vertical blinds halfway open, police said.

Vehicle Burglary

Unknown offender(s) entered three vehicles, all were unlocked, in the 1300 block of E. Waverly between April 27 at 9:15 p.m. and April 28 at 6 a.m. The first vehicle, a 2005 Honda Pilot was searched through but no property was removed. The second and third vehicles, a brown 2007 Nissan Pathfinder and a red 2002 Hyundai Sonata, each had between $20 and $30 removed from them.

Unknown offender(s) entered a silver 2002 Toyota 4 Runner in the 4200 block of N. Bloomington Avenue (apartment parking lot) sometime between April 25 at 8:45 p.m. and April 26 at 7:40 a.m. Property removed from the vehicle included: (1) Dell laptop computer valued at $1,300, (1) black handbag valued at $20, (1) men's Diamondback mountain bike valued at $600 and (1) women's Diamondback mountain bike valued at $500.

Unknown offender(s) entered an unlocked gray 2001 Lincoln LS causing the alarm to activate in the 300 block of W. Hackberry (residential driveway) on April 27 at 10:47 p.m. The owners and a witness observed two subjects wearing jeans and hoodies running away from the area. No items were taken from the vehicle, and a GPS was in plain view.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Unknown offender(s) shot the driver’s side door of a red 1999 Toyota Camry with a BB gun or pellet as the vehicle was heading southbound on Dryden at Kensington on April 26 at 10:54 p.m. Damage estimates were not immediately available.
