Arlington Heights Crime: $5K in Stolen Credit Card Charges, Beer Bottle Through Window and More

The latest crime alert from the Arlington Heights Police Department.

Criminal Damage to Property

A Modelo beer bottle was thrown through a living room window of a condominium in the 1100 block of E. Algonquin Rd. on June 18 at 2:09 a.m. The resident was asleep and awoken when the damage ($150) occurred.

Theft

A floral patterned wallet was taken from a victim eating at Portillo’s, 806 W. Dundee Rd. on June 18 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The wallet was in a purse which was placed on the floor next to the victim’s chair. She did not realize the wallet was gone until she returned home. Unauthorized transactions totaling $5,000 were made in Palatine, Lake Zurich and Kildeer.

A black bi-fold wallet was taken from a shopping cart at Harbor Freight Tools, 940 W. Dundee Rd. on June 17 sometime between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The wallet was placed in the cart while the victim was shopping, and contained a driver’s license, ID card, $100 in cash and a $50 gift card.

A men’s black 26-inch, 21 speed mountain bike was taken from outside of Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave. on June 17 between 8:35 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. The bicycle was unsecured and parked at the front bike rack.

Vehicle Burglary

The rear passenger door window of a green 2006 Jeep Commander was shattered and a duffle bag removed while parked at XSport Fitness, 320 E. Golf Rd. on June 19 at 1:56 a.m. The duffle bag contained business clothes, a BlackBerry phone and an Android phone.  A wallet containing a driver’s license and credit card also was taken. Losses are estimated at $500.
