Arlington Heights Blotter: Man Charges AH Police Officer, Mailbox Hit-and-Run

Aggravated Assault
Scott A. Auck, 47, of the 2300 block of Huron, Arlington Heights, was charged with misdemeanor aggravated assault on June 21 between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Police received an emergency call just before 3:30 p.m. regarding an intoxicated male screaming obscenities and falling down in the 600 block of W. Techny Rd. When an officer arrived, Auck began to scream at him, and then made fists and charged the officer. Auck was given a warning that if he didn’t stop, the officer would tase him. He continued to physically charged the officer and he was tasered. Auck was transported by Arlington Heights paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital due to his level of intoxication, and has a court date scheduled for July 31.
Criminal Damage to Property

A mailbox was hit with an unknown object in the 3100 bloc of Carriage Way on June 21 between 1:50 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. It was on a post at the time it was hit, and damages are estimated at $10.
The grass on the southwest side of a condominium parking lot was damaged, in the 1000 block of S. Fernandez Ave. on June 21 between noon and 1:30 p.m. A member of the condo association board observed the damage from what he believed were from a driver doing ‘doughnuts’ on the property, and contacted police.

Vehicle Burglary
An unlocked, gray Acura TL was burglarized as it was parked in the 1900 block of N. Fernandez Ave. sometime between June 21 at 9:30 p.m. and June 22 at 11 a.m. Taken from the vehicle was a Hewlett Packard iPaq ($200) that was left in plain view, and a pair of men’s sunglasses ($10) that were in the middle console.
A black Apple iPod Touch, 16 gig ($299) was taken from Prairie Park, 1695 Belmont Ave. on June 21 between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. The owner, who is a juvenile, was playing basketball at the time the iPod was taken.
Theft
A 78-year-old woman reported her wallet, with $200 cash in it, was stolen while she was a patient at Northwest Community Hospital, 800 W. Central Rd. sometime between June 17 at 8 a.m. and June 21 4 p.m. The woman told police the only time she was separated from her wallet was when she used the restroom.
