Obituary: Dorothy Elizabeth Evans of Arlington Heights

Evans, 86, of Arlington Heights was a former employee of Township High School District 214, Arlington High School and John Hersey High School and a member of Orchard Evangelical Free Church.

Dorothy Elizabeth Evans was born on February 4, 1926 in Washington, Iowa to Edward and Mary (nee Roberts) Rees. She died January 1, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

Dorothy worked as a secretary for Township High School District 214, at Arlington High School and John Hersey High School, before retiring in 1993. She was a member of Orchard Evangelical Free Church in Arlington Heights. Dorothy loved to spend time with her family and was loved by all.
 
Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert Edward (Katherine) Evans, and Karen L. (Salvatore) Spina; grandchildren, Sarah M. (Michael) Mayo, John W. (Robin) Evans, Megan S. Spina, Michael A. Spina, and Anna M. Spina; great-grandchildren, Carys Mayo, Bryn Mayo, Bronwyn Mayo, and Owen Evans; sisters Cheryl A. (Robert) Michaelsen and Carole J. Rees; niece, Michelle M. (Scott) Alden and nephew, David (Diana) Michaelsen.
 
She was preceded in death by her spouse, John Price Evans, and her parents.
 
Visitation will be held Friday, January 4, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road).  In State will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, at Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 North Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights until the 10:30 am funeral service. Interment will be at Cambrian Cemetery in Columbus Junction, Iowa.
