National Night Out at North School Park August 6

National Night Out, an event that showcases Police services, is planned for Tuesday, August 6, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. in North School Park, 410 N. Arlington Heights Road. The National Association of Town Watch and Target Stores sponsor this event nationally.

The Arlington Heights Police Department has received national recognition every year since 2005. Our event has moved up in ranking each year and was ranked 12th nationally, which is the highest in Illinois for our population category.

Plans are for this year's event to be bigger and better. The event will include:

  • Illinois CHIP Program sponsored by the Illinois Masons will provide parents with a free disc containing their child’s fingerprints, photograph and voice sample. A DNA sample can also be requested.
  • Police representatives from Accident Reconstruction, Financial Crimes, Child Safety Seat technicians, Crime Prevention, Forensics, Traffic, and Animal Welfare will have displays.
  • The Police Department will be sponsoring a child fun photo booth.
  • The Department's Traffic Unit will display their equipment and motorcycles.
  • AAA will have a Distracted Driving simulator.
  • The United States Army will be bringing numerous vehicles and displays.
  • The Union Pacific Railroad will have an informational display.
  • The Arlington Heights Park District will provide free beverages and food items, children’s games, business expo and other fun activities.
