28th Annual Alexian Brothers Ball de Fleur

Alexian Brothers Ball de Fleur at The Field Museum to
Feature 1893 World’s Fair Wonders

It’s
all “fair” game!  That will be the aspiration
when guests enter The Field Museum in Chicago on
April 26, 2014, for the 28th
Annual Alexian Brothers Ball de Fleur
to benefit four essential healthcare and
housing programs serving individuals living with mental illness, the homeless,
women and children, and those in need of hospice care in the Chicago area.  The evening of elegance will uniquely provide
Ball guests with a peek inside The Field Museum’s exhibit on the World’s
Columbian Exposition, “Opening the Vaults:
Wonders of the 1893 World’s Fair,” while also giving them the
opportunity to enjoy a first-class dinner, music and dancing.  The
premier fund- and friend-raising event of the Alexian Brothers Foundation features
the theme, “Reaching New Heights.”

Over
the past 27 years, the Alexian Brothers Ball de Fleur has raised more than $6
million, and the 2014 event will directly support the Alexian Brothers Center
for Mental Health (Arlington Heights); Alexian Brothers Housing and Health
Alliance (Chicago and  Waukegan); Alexian
Brothers Women & Children’s Hospital (Hoffman Estates); and the Alexian
Brothers Hospice Residence (Elk Grove Village).

With
600 guests expected, the Ball will be a splendorous showcase of architecture,
culture, technology and people from around the world as The Field Museum opens
up hidden collections dating back 120
years when Chicago was the world’s stage.

Festivities
will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with an elaborate cocktail reception and silent
auction in The
Field Museum’s Stanley Field Hall, followed by the opening program and
four-course gourmet dinner at 8:00 p.m. There will also be a live auction and
musical entertainment by the Becca Kaufman Orchestra with dancing until
midnight.  This is the fifth year that
the Alexian Brothers Ball de Fleur has been held in a downtown Chicago locale.
