Teens ages 12–18 are invited to enter a film in the A.H. Teen Film Fest presented by the library, the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and the Arlington Heights Arts Commission.
Make a ridiculous comedy, a music video, a blistering action short or a documentary film about your life or even a freaky horror movie ... anything! All films must be submitted as YouTube video links by July 27 to teenlibrarian@ahml.info.
Films will be judged by Daily Herald film critic Dann Gire, Metropolis screenwriter and resident playwright Scott Woldman and Michelle Harris, movie-lover and wife of State Representative David Harris. Cash prizes will be awarded to films in various categories.
$50 cash prizes will be awarded for these categories:
- Best Overall Film
- Best Performance by an Actor or Actress
- Best Music Video
- Best Film Shot on a Mobile Device
- Best Use of an Arlington Heights Landmark in the Film
Check out the rules and guidelines which include a waiver and entry form that must be completed and turned in at Customer Services at the library. Anyone interested in attending the screening may call the Metropolis box office at 847-577-2121 to reserve seats for this free event.
