Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce To Host 5K

The second annual 5K run/walk is set for Oct. 6, registration is now available.

The Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce’s Health and Wellness Initiative Committee will be hosting its second annual 5k run/walk in the parking lot of Arlington Racecourse and runners will finish the last 100 feet on the horse track and into the winners circle.

“If you have always wanted to run like the horses on the track at Arlington Racecourse, this is your chance.” said Jon S. Ridler, Executive Director of the chamber in a press release. “We may also have a horse tail for runners to wear as they gallop around the course.”

"The Pony Up For Health 5K run" will begin with a 9:30 a.m. registration and a race start time of 11 a.m. on Oct. 6

Participants can pay on the day of the race and will receive a dry-fit race shirt and a commemorative medallion.

Winners of each age group will receive trophies. Registrations are capped at 300 this year so early registration is encouraged.

Arlington Racecourse is located at 2200 West Euclid – enter via the Wilke Road entrance and park in the Metra lot.

Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to participate and enjoy adding life to your years and years to your life.
