Prospect Math Team Fares well at Regionals; Two Students Are State Qualifiers

     Prospect High School's math team participated at the regionals of the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) on Feb. 23, finishing 6th place overall in the sixth region.  The competition was hosted by Harper College in Palatine.  Two members of Prospect's team qualified for the state finals at the University of Illinois-Champaign on Saturday, May 4: sophomore Brian Park in Geometry and junior Adrian Gunawan in Algebra 2.

     The following are the results of Prospect's regional team in the various levels of competition:

     Algebra I Written Competition (7th Place): Krzys Chwala, Joanne George, Jeffrey Lin, Arsh Nanda, Katy Ryan, and Faimy Saji.

     Geometry Written Competition (5th Place): Apurva Belsare, Marc Graff, Alex Johnson, Joe Mitchell, Brian Park, and Rohan Sheth.

     Algebra II Written Competition (3rd Place): Kevin Burck, Adrian Gunawan, Rick Hallman, Tommy Kaempfer, Brenna Milligan, and Michael Monsen.

     Pre-Calculus Written Competition (3rd Place): Evie Hansen, Brian Keyser, Chris Mathew, Kush Patel, Dylan Sarikas, and Eric Willms.

     Frosh/Soph Two Person Team (6th Place): Brian Park and Rohan Sheth.

     Junior/Senior Two Person Team (4th Place): Adrian Gunawan and Michael Monsen.

     Frosh/Soph Eight Person Team (5th Place): Krzys Chwala, Joanne George, Marc Graff, Alex Johnson, Joe Mitchell, Arsh Nanda, Faimy Saji, and Rohan Sheth.

     Junior/Senior Eight Person Team (4th Place): Kevin Burck, Rick Hallman, Brian Keyser, Chris Mathew, Brenna Milligan, Shane Ryan, Dylan Sarikas, and Eric Willms.

      Calculating Team (6th Place): Apurva Belsare, Brian Keyser, Jeffrey Lin, Kush Patel, and Jerin Saji.

     Oral Team (5th Place): Adrian Gunawan and Michael Monsen.
