Arlington Heights Citizens Police Academy Starts March 12
Residents and business members in the village are invited to get a bird's eye view into what it takes to be a member of the police department through hands-on instruction, classroom training, tours and presentations.
If you are interested in learning the ins and outs of being a member of the Arlington Heights police department, enrollment is underway now to take part in the Citizens Police Academy.
The 11-week academy is free to residents and community business members, and allows participants to gain a unique understanding of police services in the village.
The academy includes classroom instruction, multi-media presentations and demonstrations, hands-on firearms familiarization and a tour of the Rolling Meadows Courthouse and the 911 center.

Areas of instruction and focus will include officer selection and training, DUI, criminal investigations, crime scene and death investigations, gang crimes, domestic violence and much more.
The spring session of the Citizens Police Academy will be held at the Arlington Heights Police Department and starts March 12. It will run Tuesday evenings for 11 weeks from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Space is limited to 25 people, and the academy will again be offered in the fall.
