Lawsuit Filed in Palatine NIU Student Hazing Death

The family of Palatine native David Bogenberger, who died after being involved in an alcohol-related incident at his NIU fraternity, is suing Pi Kapp Alpha International Fraternity, the local chapter and officers involved, the Daily Herald reports.

The family of David Bogenberger, a Palatine High School 2012 graduate, is suing the fraternity they believe are responsible for the young man's death in an alcohol-related hazing incident, the Daily Herald reports.

A week before Christmas 2012, 22 arrest warrants were issued for members of the fraternity involved the night that Bogenberger, 19, had a blood alcohol content of 0.351, close to five times the legal limit for driving while at the fraternity.

The complaint, according to the Daily Herald, named Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity, Inc., the local Kappa Alpha Eta Nu chapter at NIU, and officers of the fraternity involved in Bogenberger's initiation to the fraternity.
