Hazardous Weather Alert Issued for Cook County

Heavy storms are possible for Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outlook alert for Tuesday afternoon and evening for Cook County. 

Forecasters are predicting heavy storms could bring damaging winds, heavy rainfall, large hail and possible tornados, starting Tuesday afternoon.

Temperatures in the upper 80s and high humidity also will lead to heat index readings near 100.

The NWS also warns residents to be on the lookout for local flash flooding. 

The chance for storms continues into Wednesday morning.
