Arlington Heights Church Hosts Holocaust Speakers

Public welcome to First Presbyterian's compelling lecture

Would you risk your own life and the life of your family to save the life of someone who is not like you, someone whom you may not even like?

First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights invites you to discover stories of those who did just that during the Holocaust.

Sunday, October 28, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, authors Bill Tammeus and Rabbi Jacques Cukierkorn will discuss their book, They Were Just People: Stories of Rescue in Poland during the Holocaust, at First Presbyterian, 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights.

Tammeus is a former nationally syndicated columnist for the Kansas City Star, and Cukierkorn is the descendent of Polish rabbis and the spiritual leader of the New Reform Temple in Kansas City, Mo.

Their book unfolds many Holocaust stories that have never before been made public—gripping narratives of Jews who survived against all odds and courageous non-Jews who risked their own lives to provide shelter.  There is no fee for this lecture.
