In my opinion nothing have changed. i see 4 more years of the same. Out of control legal immigration and million of illegals coming across our border elected Obama. No jobs and out of control population means trouble ahead and more welfare for unemployed low income people.. GOP ? Do not throw in the white towel is what Democrats want you to do....stick to your guns and don't give up..GOP
say no to amnesty--and to the dream act, if 20 million illegals get amnesty? GOP will never see the inside of the white house again..
Immigration enforcement and cutting down on legal immigration is the only hope for the GOP to someday see the inside of the white house again..America have been taking over by Mexico and by south America.

*I say no, no , no and maybe it is time to send the illegals back from wence they came. With their drugs, whores and gang violence. We have been invaded and thank GOD we still have our guns and won't need to use pitchforks to drive back the invaders. The democrats won this time, hopefully we will survive the next 4 years and as for the dream act, it is an infringement to our economy, with the illegals now allowed to legally work, there is less job opportunity for the real citizens. Damn the democraps and what they have done, they should all rot in hell, but that might be too good for them

Boehner is back and Congress still has a Republican majority so despite the people understanding what needs to be done, we still have the ideology wall to break down enough to compromise. A good start would be to ship Grover Norquist back to where ever he came from and forget about that agreement they all signed. Republicans need to Compromise....Obama is willing to.

52% of the American people receive some type of government check. Roughly 52% of those who voted cast their ballot for Obama.

Coincidence? I think not.

It has been said that the Republic will cease when the majority realize that they can vote themselves funds from the public treasury.

However, as one of the iron rules of history says, "Great
nations will eventually develop great problems." America
fell victim to its own successes. Ambassador Henry
Grunwald, quoted by Richard Lamm in his lecture, "The Rise
and Fall of the American Civilization," said: "For freedom
to be workable as a political system, there has to be
strong inner controls; there has to be a powerful moral
compass and sense of values." America, eventually obsessed
with its affluence and indulging in its luxuries and
freedoms, lost this inner control and spiraled into
decline. There started a drastic absence of morality, and
such will, at some point, affect the entire society and
will inevitably bring about its downfall. America fell just
before the turn of the twenty-second century at the hands
of the new Asian economic imperialism.

Really? I have not noticed any compromise from the Democrats. All I see is two parties are are intent on destroying anyone who runs against or disagrees with them. It amazes me that liberals got re-elected in Illinois. Possibly the worst run State in the Country (all currently run by madigan and his liberal pals)...good luck with Obama too he will force companies to pay the obamacare penalty instead of paying healthcare and everything will be run by the gov't...as a small business owner with over 50 employees - I'll pay the penalty rather than higher rates - that won't help people but I'm not going to take a hit! Liberals just don't get it...higher taxes do NOT equal more jobs and that's what we need. I hope you liberals step up to the plate and admit you're wrong as obamas socialist ideas take hold...good luck!

Obamacare is already reflected in many ways now. Medicaid is dealt out like an HMO, new medicare plans offer $0 premiums and $7 co-pays for a primary Dr. I haven't heard what it costs for the specialist for open heart surgery or if you will be allowed a liver transplant if you are over 55. This is not freedom of choice unless freedom of choice means you can choose to die because our government says it is OK.

I don't know about out of Illinois, but here the rheteric was against all republicans, look at Tammy Quackworth, sure I feel sorry she had injuries in Iraq, but no way did that qualify her to even polish my shoes. She played on the liberal, sympathy (the dumbasses) and re-districting to get her elected and smeared Walsh without regard to his family and the fact he was cleared of the allegation. So much for fair practices, but then we have no laws governing fairness or low down scum saying what they want. In fact our constitution gives us that right, and when I say all the dems in office are jackasses and dirtbag scum, it is my right to say so.

I agree about the Anti-Romney rhetoric being out there as well, but check any news article with comments anywhere online regarding the election (that is non-partisan)- Anti-Obama, extremely hateful comments are like 5 to 1, yet he won. Not taking a side either way, just saying that it's interesting that vitriol doesn't reflect the result. If it's THAT bad, it shouldn't even have been 50/50.

Those who think "change" means what can I mooch off the gov't to not be able to work 2. Those who are jealous of people who are more successful and want what they have...3. Bleeding Hearts who can't separate the truly needy from the moochers and feel sorry for everyone or...4. special interest groups such as overpaid union workers or gays rights devotees. It seems like an fair, non-biased question to me, but perhaps I should it frame differently?

lets do some math: 16t in debt that's 160B a year at 1%, and 5% of 2012 budget. But how long will we be at 1%.... at 5% interest rate, it will be 800B, and it will be 27% of Budget and growing.....27%, that's money that could go for lots of things but instead your children will have 27% less annual budget to spend. And if rates go higher it gets much worse.

Same in IL 40B in debt with our credit rating getting worse everyday and no Fed, so we cant print money. Dont forget about the unfunded Pension liability too. That debt is a burden to your children and it is irresponsible.

One day the chickens will come home to roost and the math may be much, much worse. In my mind we all lost yesterday......but most all our future generations are losing.

Let the layoffs begin.

Business owners are now laying off employees because of the Obama victory and what it means to their business. A Las Vegas owner laid off roughly 20% of his staff yesterday.

Many Democrat voters just don't understand the implications of Obamacare on small business and the threat of higher tax rates and continued astronomical corporate tax rates. It's math, pure and simple.

Janet, So true! This past election has been 90% 'attack ads' with no substance as to what the person thinks, feels, stands for. I believe the English have the correct way of doing things. Electioneering can begin only x weeks before an election and you're allowed to spend only Y amount of money. To many of those now elected will get sworn in and then start running for re-election within a matter of weeks.

Dan, True ... the economy remains in the toilet ... markets drop big time the very nextday ... housing still in the dumps ... unemployment figures still high and they don't even reflect the number of people that have just given up looking or no longer can claim unemployment compensation. Of course things 'look brighter', when you're at the bottom of the well the only place to go is up ... unless more government comes along and digs the well deeper!

Obviously civility is still lacking even though the election is over. Name calling is always counterproductive. The election is over, & whether your candidate won or lost, compromises are going to have to be made on both sides of the political spectrum. The members of the House & Senate are going to have to learn to work together to get us out of the hole we are in, & the President is going to have to step up & lead because that is what a President does.

What has been happening & is still happening in Washington is like a divorce. Each side blames the other for the problems, & neither is willing to accept any blame for their part of the problems.

No matter what political party we belong to, we need to hold our elected officials feet to the fire. There is a lack of civility in Washington & in Springfield, & both parties are equally to blame. If compromise cannot be reached, we are in for some very hard times. Our children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren will pay for the mistakes our government makes. It is definitely unfair to place that burden on them. BTW. My candidate lost!
