Nokia Siemens Invests in Arlington Heights, Business Climate Strong

Village retains Nokia Siemens, and welcomes a number of new businesses.

Nokia Siemens will not only be staying in Arlington Heights, it is planning a multi-million investment on its current property, the former Motorola site.

Arlington Heights recently approved a real estate tax incentive that allows companies to have their property assessed at 10 percent of the market value rather than the usual 25 percent, officials said. Cook County started the incentive to keep businesses in the county.

The original incentive was granted to Motorola in 1988, who then renewed it in 2000, according to village documents. Nokia, which is an industrial research and development center facility, purchased the Motorola property and applied for the tax incentive.
