Long Grove Man Dies in I-90 Crash

Accident on I-90 near Arlington Heights Road kills Michael Raymond, 60, injures others

A Long Grove man died from injuries suffered during a five-vehicle accident Tuesday on I-90, near Arlington Heights Road.

Michael Raymond, 60, was driving his car eastbound on I-90 when a box truck struck the vehicle from behind, police authorities said.

The crash caused a chain reaction, and a total of five vehicles were involved in the accident on I-90, said Illinois State Trooper Michelle Kistulinec.

Raymond was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiners office.

The driver of the box truck was cited with improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed, Kistulinec said.

At least two others in other vehicles involved in the crash were transported to nearby medical centers.

Lanes on I-90 were closed for several hours as the Illinois State Police investigated the crash, she said. All lanes were reopened by 1:10 p.m.
